UON Team Gets Active for Activ at City to Surf

Sep 18, 2018

The power of community spirit was in full force at the 2018 Perth City to Surf where a team of UON employees engaged in the fun run, along with 20,000 other participants, to raise funds for Activ.

Activ is WA’s largest disability service provider to both adults and children and the event is an opportunity to celebrate the work Activ achieves in the Western Australian community.

The sun was shining for all the participants as they walked, rolled, or ran the courses before crossing the finish line at City Beach. With disability impacting around 1 in 5 Australians it was wonderful to see the community come together to challenge themselves, and encourage one another, all while raising vital funds for the charity.

The sponsors and volunteers did an amazing job once more, and the day was full of sunshine and smiles.

The UON participants were welcomed across the line by their fellow colleagues and friends and a barbeque was put on post-event for their families. Employees from all departments were present to share in their achievements and reflect on the wonderful cause. UON prioritises the health and wellbeing of its employees and was happy to encourage and sponsor the UON team in their efforts for Activ and for the wider community in general.
