Mark Keogh Finalist for Innovation Award

May 28, 2021

We are pleased to announce that our Executive Chairman and Founder of UON, Mark Keogh, was a finalist for the ‘Champion of Innovation’ award at the 2021 Austmine conference in Perth. Mark’s unwavering commitment to innovation in the resources sector over the last 30 years stands testament to this recognition.

Mark founded UON in 1998 in direct response to the demands of mining operating in a harsh environment. But after the downturn of 2015/16, Mark enquired afresh into all the energy and water challenges faced by the industry. Deeper mines and declining ore grades demanded new approaches. Following this Mark personally invested heavily in a design and manufacturing phase that has since transformed how remote mine sites access power and water as we know it today. UON’s innovations across a range of fuel-efficient and hybrid solutions dramatically improve the return on investment for mine owners and reduce their carbon footprint.

Over the course of his career, Mark has focused obsessively on championing innovation for the resources sector. He has developed numerous patented and patent-pending products that are both novel and useful, as indicated by successful projects completed and continuing strong demand for UON’s products and services.

We would also like to also extend our congratulations to the other finalists as well as the overall winner, Bob Johnson of Maptek who took out the award. It is fantastic to see the sheer calibre of talent the industry is producing such as these finalists who are championing innovation for the future of our resources sector.
