The Targa South West is a unique motorsport competition incorporating varying vehicle categories with races held on closed roads. This year welcomed an exciting new category to the competition; the MSP Engineering Electric Targa Tour. Electric vehicles participated in the race for the first time in the event’s history; this was also an Australian Motorsport first.
To supply on-demand power to the electric vehicles competing in the rally, UON donated a 100kvA Generator for the duration of the event. All electric vehicles had access to the UON power pit-stop throughout the race with event officials reporting zero issues and praising reliability of supply.
Event organiser Florian Popp of Gemtek Group noted the importance of supporting innovative events like the Targa South West: “With WA at the heart of global Lithium production, it’s fantastic to see local industry getting behind events like the Targa South West to bring the distribution of electric vehicles to the WA motoring community.”
UON congratulates all of this year’s participants and looks forward to powering future EV events within the community. For more information on UON rental power please visit the UON website.
