UON is excited to share it has commissioned a unique 200kW Automatic Load Bank under varying load conditions, a standalone unit featuring a touchscreen controller and intuitive menus. The load bank was installed and commissioned as part of a transfer pump station project at an Iron Ore mine in WA’s Pilbara region.
The UON 200kW Automatic Load Bank has the capability to automatically increase or decrease load on the diesel electric generator as the number of pumps running at the pump station increases or is turned off. This is important to maintain and prevent the generator from glazing due to insufficient load which can shorten the working life of the generator and ultimately cause damage. The UON 200kW Automatic Load Bank assists to maintain the optimum minimum running load on the diesel generator.
The UON 200kW Automatic Load Bank is completely autonomous; no user-operation is required after preliminary settings are configured on the touchscreen, making it the first set-and-forget Load Bank to be commercially available in Australia.
