Major Water Management Infrastructure Project

Design, supply, install and commission bore pumps, generators, telemetry and associated equipment including UON’s (PATENT PENDING) PROPOWER GMC© Technology.

Background Information

UON’s client required additional dewatering resources to sustain operations at its open iron ore pit.

Key Success

The key success of this water infrastructure project was maintaining the day to day mining operations in the pit while site installations were undertaken. The UON site team worked closely with the client to ensure the project was delivered safely with a focus on quality whilst minimizing disruptions to pit operations. UON’s dedicated dewatering team were on site to oversee the installation of 7 in-pit bore pump assemblies, utilizing UON’s (PATENT PENDING) PROPOWER GMC© technology to control and monitor the pumping systems.


  • HDPE pipe and fittings including associated civil works
  • 7 in pit bore pump assemblies and associated downhole equipment
  • 7 trailer mounted dewatering bore head works and (PATENT PENDING) UON GMC© Generators
  • Bore field Telemetry system and integration into SCADA system
  • 5 ML turkey’s nest with sediment basin
  • 3 diesel driven skid mounted pumps for pumping station at turkeys nest
  • 2 water stands
  • Discharge pipe, and road pipework modifications
